Nothing's mine when I'm keeping track of time
its easier to lose yourself under the swell
than paddling the surface when it's hot as hell
sitting at the table with the wild eyes and white teeth of animals
isolation's doing crazy things to me
familiar faces speaking but I just can't seem to understand anything
watch the way the bodies move steady myself or else I'll lose my balance teeters dangerously on the gazes that i meet
is it really easier behind the glass away from strangers asking their "how do you do's" or "whats your name?" "how are you?"
its hard to see when you're fogging up the glass
its hard to breathe and the tide is rising fast
slip into the sea like a child falling asleep
study my reflection in the glass halls of the deep
even on the seabed where the only eyes are mine
the sun's still casting shadows of the surface left behind
